"Savannah, Ga. City Hall & Bay St." Verso: "SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. CITY HALL AND BAY STREET. The great warehouses of the city (the second largest cotton-port and the largest naval store port in the world) occupy a street at the foot of the steep bluff fronting the Savannah River on a level with the piers. From their upper stories they open upon Bay Street, the great commercial mart of Savannah." This colorized postcard, postmarked January 30, 1908, depicts City Hall and Bay Street looking west. |
